**Classification Summary - Union**
- This position monitors activities and maintains the City of Kelowna’s public parks and beaches while providing customer service to the public.**Duties - Union**
- Patrols all City of Kelowna beaches to report damage, vandalism, unwanted activity and dog issues
- Public relations and interaction with park users, event groups and other staff
- Works with Parks Community Relations Coordinator to monitor events and sporting activities
- Rakes the beaches and reports maintenance issues
- Performs litter removal

**Results and Activities - Non union**

**Credentials - Union**
- Excellent customer service skills
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence
- Able to work with groups of people and work alone using the buddy system
- Ability to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and rain and perform physical labour which includes walking, lifting, and maintenance work with a shovel and rake
- Ability to work weekends for duration of employment term

**Student Program Eligibility requirements**: You must be attending school, college or university during the last school term and returning to your studies in the subsequent academic year. VERIFICATION WILL BE REQUIRED.
Submission of a RCMP Security Clearance form will be required.

Employment Dates: Early May through end of August. Hours of Work: 10:00 am to 6:30 pm Days of Work: 5 days per week (varied days, usually Thurs-Mon, including weekends)**Additional Hiring Information**
