**Sessional Lecturer**:
**FSC100H5 F The Real CSI**:** Course Description**:This class introduces the science of Crime Scene Investigation and related forensic specialities. Students will learn about the latest scientific developments in the field, contrasting these to popular portrayals of CSI in the media, and addressing the impact of popular portrayals on juror expectations, knowledge and misconceptions. Note: This is a general first year course open to everyone. PLEASE NOTE: The required FSC Program 1st year introductory course is: FSC239Y5 Introduction to Forensic Science

**Session**: May 1, 2023 to June 30, 2023

**Lectures**: Tuesdays from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM and Thursdays from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM (In-person)

**Practicals/Tutorials**: None

**Estimated Course Enrolment**: 200

**Estimated TA Support**: 110 hours (total number of assigned hours is dependent on course enrolment and course approvals)

**Salary**:

- $9,182.42 for Sessional Lecturer I
- $9,641.55 for Sessional Lecturer I - Long Term
- $9,826.96 for Sessional Lecturer II
- $10,060.93 for Sessional Lecturer III
- Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail._

**Preferred Qualifications**: Experience with management and delivery of courses using University of Toronto or similar systems (e.g., Quercus, Canvas-based technologies, Zoom, etc.) is preferred.

**Duties**: Preparation and delivery of course material, preparation and delivery of assignments, tests and/or exams; supervision of teaching assistants (includes providing instruction on how to mark, as well as holding office hours); marking of students’ work (during the term and beyond if an extension of time is granted by the university officials); submission of grades to university officials; and holding regular office hours.
