We are looking for an HR Generalist to oversee all aspects of human resources practices and processes.

**Overview**:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the HR Generalist is the go-to person for all employee-related issues. This means that the HR Generalist's duties will involve managing activities such as job design, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training & development and talent management.

The HR Generalist is important to the club’s success. People are our most important asset, and you’ll be the one to ensure we have a happy and productive workplace where everyone works to realize our established mission and objectives. Promoting the club’s values and shaping a positive culture is a vital aspect of the complete HR Generalist we seek for The Alpine Club of Canada.

Please note that the HR Generalist at the ACC is responsible for Payroll and should have experience processing payroll each month.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
- Manage the recruitment, selection, and onboarding process of new team members
- Support current, and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital
- Develop and monitor overall HR strategies and policies, systems, processes, and procedures across the Club
- Nurture a positive working environment
- Oversee and manage the performance management system, talent management, career and succession planning
- Maintain and process payroll, benefits program and RRSP contributions
- Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics
- Administer all matters relating to WCB
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management and Occupational Health & Safety
- Support the Finance & Accounting team where required

**Requirements and Skills**:

- Proven working experience as an HR Executive
- People-oriented and results-driven
- Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases, including Payroll
- Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
- Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
- In-depth knowledge of labour law and HR best practices
- Degree in Human Resources or a related field
- Preserving, practicing, and promoting Canadian mountain culture and self-propelled alpine pursuits._
