Job Overview:
We are seeking a Summer student that is skilled and reliable in yard care such as mowing lawns, cleaning eavestroughs, triming hedges, painting fences, decks. Experience in Handy Man duties. As a Handy Man, you will be responsible for performing various maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the functionality and safety of our clients who are senior citizens. This is a government summer student postion that requires you to be under age 30 and going back to school in the fall. This is a paid position with opportunities for growth and development.

**Duties**:
Must have the knowledge and skills to operate power and hand carpentry tools and garden tools. Having your own tools is an asett. Must have the knowledge for light carpentry handman repairs. Knowledge to repair lawn mowers if the belt comes off, check the oil, carry gas cans, operate weed whippers.
- Perform general carpentry work, including painting, drywall repair, and furniture assembly, cut grass, clean eavestrough, yard care
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner and prioritize tasks based on urgency
- Collaborate with other team members to complete larger projects or renovations
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and report any major issues to the supervisor
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area

**Skills**:

- Proven experience as a Handy Man or similar role
- Strong knowledge of general maintenance procedures and techniques
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and yard and lawn equipment
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Good communication skills to interact with team members and clients MUST BE FLUENT AND PROFICIENT IN ENGLISH SPEAKING, WRITING, LISTENING.

PPE required: approved work boots, safety glasses and other as required

Must have your own vehicle and if you have a truck to carry lumber, parts, lawn mowers, gas cans, etc. That is an aset.

Most of the work in in Moose Jaw but there is also work in the community within 40 minutes of Moose Jaw. Mileage is paid.

**Salary**: $16.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 9 - 20 per week
