**Job Overview**: As a Coding Instructor for Kidz Who Can, you will play a pivotal role in introducing coding and programming concepts to young learners aged 6 to 12. You will inspire and guide students in developing essential digital skills in a fun and engaging learning environment.
All lessons are prepped and provided for teachers. There are no lesson-planning or marking responsibilities. Typically we have 2 teachers who work together in a class with up to 15 students.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Deliver Engaging Coding Lessons**: Using the provided curriculum and resources, teach coding and programming concepts to children, ensuring a stimulating and interactive learning experience.
**Support Student Learning**: Provide one-on-one or group assistance to students, addressing questions and challenges they encounter during lessons.
**Setting up a Positive Learning Environment**:Working with our community partners to make sure the rooms and technology are set up to create an atmosphere where every student can thrive.
**Adapt to Student Needs**: Tailor your teaching approach to accommodate students of varying skill levels and learning styles.
**Track Attendance and Report Progress**: Keep records of student attendance and providing feedback to parents or guardians about their ongoing progress.
**Qualifications**:
- Prior teaching, leadership or camp experience an asset; training in coding platforms and curriculum will be provided to those with a base level knowledge of technology and a willingness to learn.
- A great team player, looking to work with a wonderful team.
- Patient, approachable, and enthusiastic about working with children.
- A passion for technology and a strong desire to share this passion with young learners.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts in an accessible manner.
- Proficiency in coding languages such as Scratch or Python is a plus, but not at all required.
**Working Hours**: This is a casual part-time position. All hours are IN-PERSON at Community Centre partners - this is NOT a remote or virtual job. Coding Teachers can expect to work between 2.5 to 10 hours per week.
**Salary**: Coding Teachers will earn a competitive hourly rate, starting at $25/hour with annal increases.
