- Located in Chester, Bonny Lea Farm is Nova Scotia’s first and only all-inclusive residential, vocational and therapeutic service provider for adults with intellectual disabilities.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Support Participants (adults with intellectual/physical disabilities) at BLF and in the community
- Assess physiotherapy, fitness & recreational needs
- Design & instruct fitness related activities
- Implement recreational and sport activities
- Develop evaluation tools to monitor changes/progress
- Facilitate Participants’ Individual Program Plan goals
- Motivate and encourage participation in activities
- Transport Participants
- Promote health, nutrition and well-being
- Communicate with field professionals (OT, PT)
- Work as part of a team

Work Environment
- Full-time 40 hours weekly schedule
- May include days/evenings according to program needs
- Requires operation of different styles of passenger vehicles
- May experience crisis situations, which place the safety and well-being of our staff and participants in jeopardy
- May work singularly or in tandem
- May be required to lift in relation to daily activities and physically assisting participants
- May be exposed to bodily fluids, viruses and illness

Minimum Qualifications **University degree or a graduate of a recognized college or university with a degree in physical education, human kinetics or related field, or comparable education/experience**
- Possession or willingness to obtain all 7 Provincial Core Competencies
- Experience working with or supporting people living with physical and/or intellectual disability
- Demonstrated familiarity in sporting/recreational activities including badminton, floor hockey, basketball, swimming, bowling and hiking
- Ability to adapt sporting activities based on individual needs
- Coaching experience (an asset)
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Valid NS Driver’s License
- Possession or willingness to attain Class 4 driver’s license
- Acceptable Driving record/abstract
- Clear Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Search
- Must provide proof of Covid Vaccinations

**Salary**: $22.78-$24.62 per hour
