**English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher**

Kells students come from all corners both of Montreal and of the world. They represent a variety of cultures and cultural perspectives. **Responsibilities**
- Teach English as a second language to multiple high school grade levels
- Attend and contribute to team meetings
- Attend required school events beyond the school day, such as Open House, curriculum night, and parent-teacher interviews
- Take advantage of professional development opportunities
- Communicate regularly with administration, parents and students regarding student progress
- Complete other duties as assigned by the school principal

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in ESL instruction or in education; Master’s preferred
- ESL instructional training if no degree in ESL
- Strong teaching background, including training and experience, in English as a second language
- Successful experience working with a diverse student population
- Holding a Quebec teaching license preferred

**Schedule and Accountability**
- All ESL classes are between 8:20 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday
- This is a non-union instructor position
- The ESL teacher will work approximately half-time and report to the principal

Part-time hours: 20 per week
