**Job Summary**
The Social Worker III (Clinical Practice Coordinator) (CPC) is an advanced clinical position that will be required to provide individual, group and family counselling and has the overall responsibility for providing clinical, professional and program leadership in the interdisciplinary Child/Adolescent Central Intake team. Duties include providing clinical supervision, orientation, mentoring and clinical consultation to ensure effective delivery of intake services and client care.

The CPC provides expert knowledge and skills within the practice area, conducts research activities designed to further clinical practice and service delivery, and acts as a resource and consultant for staff of the mental health and addictions program, as well as consultation to referral sources. The CPC screens and assesses referrals for the Child and Adolescent Community Mental Health Programs, manages and develops the intake process and client information system and consults with community agencies to facilitate early and appropriate referrals. In addition, this position organizes and manages referrals waiting for assessment and provides advanced clinical assessments and wait list support for children, youth and families.

The CPC presents in staff development, continuing education and public education sessions, serves on internal and external committees as required and actively participates in peer consultation. The CPC participates in ongoing quality initiatives such as evaluating the intake process, contributing to policy development, research and preparing reports. Other related Social Work and leadership duties may be required.

The CPC will be expected to provide field instruction for Social Work students. This position will also be expected to provide service to the Doorways single session walk in clinic.

This position reports to the Program Manager for Community Child/Adolescent Mental Health Program and maintains accountability to the Social Work Professional Practice Consultant for professional integrity and practice issues.

**Job Demands**
Occasionally there is lifting, or physical strength required to carry boxes of resources/materials, flip charts and audio-visual equipment up to 15 lbs.
Occasionally work demands result in considerable fatigue requiring periods of rest.
Constantly sits to work on the computer or to drive to meetings.
Regularly uses fine finger/precision work to enter information into computer systems.
Visual and auditory concentration is required when reviewing client files/notes and for documenting work into computerized systems.
A higher than normal level of attentiveness and carefulness is required when assessing clients, especially those who may be at a high risk, in order to ensure their health and safety, staff's safety, and to prevent any possible dangers or hazards from happening.
Lack of control over the work pace and time pressures can occur when completing assessments, case documentation and workload reports, managing emergency and routine appointments within the allocated timeframe.
Occasionally there are interruptions due to a crisis situation.

**Job Qualifications**
Graduation with a Clinical or Integrated Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program with the MSW field placement in a clinical practice is required.
Current and continuing registration with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Social Workers (NLCSW) is required.
Minimum of five years of experience within the last seven working as a Social Worker in a mental health and addictions program is required.
Experience with brief therapy modalities is an asset.
ASIST training is an asset.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, including but not limited to, Mental Health Care and Treatment Act, Adult Protection Act, Advanced Health Care Directives Act, Medical Assistance in Dying, and the Children, Youth and Families
