Load/plant Crew

**JOB SUMMARY**:
Performs work required to service location and customer requirements. Load/Plant Crew receives direction at Austin Powder location from location management.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Must satisfactorily perform each of the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities listed below as required.

**Location Operations**:

- Performs work required to service location requirements as determined by the location management.
- Duties may include pulling inventory, loading/unloading trucks, checking product bins, operating equipment, site housekeeping and repair of magazines and equipment.

**Location Assets**:

- Properly operating and maintaining location equipment as directed.

**Personnel**:

- Reports employee or customer issues to Location Manager.
- Develops and maintains positive work relationships with co-workers, customers, vendors and government agencies.
- Displays work behaviors that are honest and ethical in pursuit of Austin Powder's business goals.

**Health & Safety Compliance**:

- Maintains a safe working environment in compliance with all regulations and company policies.
- Completes and maintains necessary paperwork as required by company policies and procedures, Transport Canada, or other Provincial or Federal regulations.
- Complies with APC inventory management procedures.

**MARGINAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
May perform any of the marginal functions, duties, and responsibilities listed below.
- Assist or perform the duties of Shot Service Crew.
- Assist or perform other duties, as necessary.

encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- Exposure to weather elements, dust, noise, oils, greases, and other debris.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is also required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
- Loads and unloads 50 pound product bags or boxes from company inventories to trucks.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
Must be 21 years of age as required by company policy.

**Education**:
Must have acquired, as a minimum, the following formal education.
- High school or GED equivalent.

**Licenses and Certification**:
Must possess upon hire or acquire within 12 months of hire the following:

- Valid Driver's License
- Transportation of Dangerous Good (TDG) endorsements or any additional endorsements required by Provincial/Federal regulations.
- Provincial/Federal Health & Safety Training.

**SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE**:
Must demonstrate competency and proficiency in the following skills and/or abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, product bulletins and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively with employees and customers.
- Ability to identify products by sight. Ability to differentiate the characteristics of blasting agents, high explosives, and detonators.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, schedule form.
