Our team includes Anesthesia, Cardiology, Dentistry, Dermatology, ER/CC, Imaging, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Ophthalmology and Surgery specialists.

Capital City Specialty and Emergency Animal Hospital is seeking experienced Emergency Room Veterinary Technicians to join our dynamic team. As an Emergency Room Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to our patients during critical situations. All of our ER/CC technicians are cross-trained through our Anesthesia department to ensure a high quality of care even after hours

**Schedule**:
Must be flexible with a rotating schedule, up to 4 days off consecutively. ER techs will rotate through Triage, Out-Patient and In-Patient roles. 11-13 hour shifts depending on the role.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist veterinarians in the ER with diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Monitor and care for patients in critical condition
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Perform laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging
- Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing updates on their pet's condition
- Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure the highest standard of patient care

**Requirements**:

- Graduate of a CVMA or AVMA accredited program in Veterinary Technology
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) preferred
- Previous experience in an emergency veterinary setting an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work overnight shifts as needed in the schedule rotation

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Registered Veterinary Technician License (preferred)
