Administrative Full-time New Position

Reporting to the Associate Director of Student Experience, the Manager of Student Leadership, Development & Transition (SLDT) is responsible for the leadership, and direction of the staff, programs, and initiatives that support the seamless integration of new international and domestic students into the college through orientation and their ongoing personal, co-curricular and leadership development. The Manager will lead the enhancement of intentional skill development outside of the classroom, creating pan-institutional leadership development programs and the professional development of engaged volunteers and student staff are essential components of the incumbent’s responsibilities.

Integral to this role is the formation and maintenance of cross-college partnerships and the assessment of initiatives to ensure a high impact student experience. The incumbent is responsible for setting program goals and priorities and assessing the impact on the student experience and reporting.

**Responsibilities**:
**Administration & Management**
- Responsible for the hiring, performance, and development of Full-time and Part-time employees
- Contributes to strategic and yearly activity planning and develops recommendations for new/revised SLDT programs and services
- Provides guidance and direction on the implementation, promotion, and continuous improvement of the Co-Curricular Record, including reviewing requests from college stakeholders, developing promotional strategies, developing and facilitating training, developing progress reports, evaluations, new initiatives, service delivery to stakeholders, etc.
- Leads the planning, implementation, and assessment of student orientation and related transition programming each term across all campuses
- In conjunction with the Associate Director, develops a Student Leadership Hub to frame student leadership development, build associated programming, training, and assessment
- Develops and coordinates training plans required for department/Part-time student staff, volunteer, and user/role categories; Determines instructional methods based on training needs, including individual/group training, new student staff onboarding, workshops, etc.
- Enhances mentorship programs allowing students to share lived experiences and support
- Conducts research, needs assessment, and debriefs with stakeholders toward continuous improvement to ensure unit programming meets/exceeds emerging needs and best practices
- Monitors ongoing developments through the Canadian Association of College and University Student Services (CACUSS) in terms of technologies and quality processes
- Initiates opportunities for continuous student feedback as it relates to the student experience (e.g. qualitative and quantitative data, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Develops online learning modules with the Online Learning Centre (OLC) and Information Technology (IT), coordinating communication with Registrars and the International department and overseeing the orientation evaluation processes completed by students and faculty
- In conjunction with the Associate Director, develops departmental policies and procedures consistent with college requirements, legislation, and regulations
- Coordinates with Student Success Portal Management, Facilities, OLC, Student Information System (SIS), and IT to ensure that Orientation Program sessions and Co-Curricular systems remain operational, and the information and system access is in conformance with appropriate policies and practices
- Development initiatives for college staff, faculty, and students
- Prepares and monitors budgets for Development
- Provides regular status reports to the Associate Director

**Leadership & Guidance**
- Guides Conestoga employees and students regarding the acculturation of new international students to the Conestoga community
- Empowers student and professional staff by leveraging their strengths and lived experiences
- Promotes and facilitates communication and collaboration between Student Affairs, International, Academic Schools, and Conestoga Student Inc. (CSI) to support Orientation and student-centered learning outside of class
- Fosters respect and inclusion to support a welcoming, inclusive student experience
- Leads International integration programming across campuses through Co-curricular programming, enhancing the Canadian experience and engagement across the college
- Works with the Student Engagement, Registrars, and International team to ensure critical pathway
