**Position Summary**
The Finance Officer supports the financial operations of an organization. This role involves handling administrative tasks, maintaining financial records, and providing assistance to the finance team. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and a solid understanding of financial processes are essential for success in this role.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
Under the supervision of the Finance Controller the duties and responsibilities of the Finance Officer include, but are not limited to:
**Enter and monitor financial transactions.**
- Accurately input financial data into accounting software or spreadsheets.
- Maintain up-to-date and organized financial records.
- Process and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Liaise with vendors and internal departments regarding invoicing inquiries.
- Review and process employee expense reports.
- Ensure expenses are within policy limits and appropriately documented.
- Assist in reconciling bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial records.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Support the preparation of financial reports by gathering and organizing relevant data.
- Assist in generating routine financial statements and reports.
**Compliance and Documentation**
- Provide administrative support to the finance team, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.
- Assist in maintaining an organized filing system for financial documents.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate and complete financial documentation.
- Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Assist in implementing audit recommendations.
**Financial System Utilization**
- Utilize financial management software and tools for data entry, reporting, and analysis.
- Assist in maintaining the integrity and security of financial systems.
**Minimum Requirements**
Specific
- Educated to degree level in appropriate field of study or equivalent relevant experience -Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in a finance or administrative role.
- Familiarity with accounting principles and financial processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management software.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Working Conditions
- Work normal business hours but may be required to do some work in the evenings or outside normal working hours;
- Required to spend long hours concentrating which will require attention to detail and high levels of accuracy; and
- Required to meet a number of deadlines which may cause stress.
- Must be willing to travel on behalf of the Award, sometimes with overnight stays.
