**Role Responsibilitie**s
- Collect Samples from mill processes: Know & understand all mill processes and hazards to be able to work safely while collecting samples.
- Lab Analysis: Prepare samples and perform testing on various process samples, using both basic and complex lab instrumentation.
- Lab Data Collection: Produce accurate reports for others by collecting data and inputting it into standard formats (spreadsheets).
- Lab Data Analysis: Understand and interpret data, identify possible trends and communicate to process team.
- Procedures: Develop testing procedures with guidance from process engineers.
- Lab Maintenance, Repair, Installation: Maintain and repair lab equipment where possible to ensure that it meets operational requirements. Troubleshoot instrumentation as required with assistance from E&I. Help to install complex systems and conduct inspections of equipment with guidance.
- Improvement/Innovation: Implement improvements and perform non-routine work (projects).
**Role Requirements**
- A Post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Chemistry or another related science field.
- 2-3 years experience in a pulp mill would be considered an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, MOPs, SAP).
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
- Good data analytics skills with the ability to ensure accurate data and recognize trends or shifts in data.
- Strong collaboration skills.
- Ability to prioritize, manage time well, multitask and troubleshoot.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, with changing priorities, deadlines, and to readily adapt to change.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
**Other**
- Comfortable working with computers and basic math and chemistry.
- Must be able to lift and carry large samples up to 20 kg (eg. Full 20L pails) and walk up to 10,000 steps per day.
- Shift work can be required (exceedingly rare).
