**Job Summary**

The Expert, Data Management, Receivables Management is responsible for utilizing data to monitor and improve business performance. The role develops predictive analysis, identifies opportunities to advance cash flow and executes on strategies to improve billing accuracy and resolve customer issues. The role is accountable for identifying and resolving source issues that result in invoices being disputed. Furthermore, the position handles escalated disputes and works with different receivables functions and Sales and Marketing to find the path to a resolution. The position creates, maintains, and validates customized reports and dashboards sourced from complex systems, sets the collections targets and acts as the liaison between Financial Planning and Treasury to align targets and explain variances from actual results.

**Main Responsibilities**

**Data Management and Analysis**
- Handle and consolidate accounts receivable data, ensuring its accuracy and consistency across various complex reporting systems
- Implement and handle a repository which assembles all customer information from various sources including credit management, master data, collections, and payment management
- Use data analytics to interpret financial and operational data and gain insights into customer payment behaviour and recommend strategies to advance cash flows and improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Perform root-cause analysis by identifying process gaps in billings, disputes, and payments, and recommend and implement resolutions with various teams affected
- Develop accurate trend analyses to predict cash flows and mitigate bad debt
- Work closely with decision makers and senior leaders to identify, document, develop, and implement innovative data solutions
- Support change management efforts as reporting tools evolve with the implementation of Systems, Applications and Products (SAP S4)
- Identify opportunities for process automation and collaborate with various stakeholders

**Creating and Maintaining Reporting Solutions**
- Create and implement standardized reporting solutions sourced from multiple complex systems to be leveraged in prioritizing workload and improving collection strategies
- Develop reporting solutions to monitor various invoice streams and disputes (e.g., freight, storage, demurrage, customs) aimed at providing visibility to senior accounting leadership and the receivables team
- Build dashboards for senior accounting leaders allowing for enhanced visibility and access to real-time information on accounts receivable
- Work with the business for any new reporting solutions requested
- Ensure that the reporting solution is operational on a daily basis and issues are escalated for resolution
- Communicate and resolve issues to the business

**Team Leadership**
- Leverage the S4 solution and change management principles to lead and coach the various receivables teams on reports, root-cause analysis and cross-functional collaboration
- Work with Revenue Management and Optional Services billing to optimize processes and improve billing accuracy and timing
- Collaborate with Accounting Development and other teams to maintain and optimize systems as well as implement robotics and automation to improve processes
- Meet with customers and recommend solutions where process gaps have been identified and result in delayed payments

**Working Conditions**

The role has hybrid working conditions consisting of three days in office and two days at home with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure, and stress.

**Requirements**:
**Experience**

Accounts Receivable
- Between 5 to 7 years of experience in accounts receivable
- Experience with accounts receivable systems or processes
- Experience in the railway industry*
- Any experience for these above would be considered as an asset

**Education/Certification/Designation**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Computer Science*
- Any designation for these above would be considered as an asset
