As an integral member of the **Joint Department of Medical Imaging team** you will perform various Imaging procedures at University Health Network. The department features state-of-the-art digital technology and a team of innovative staff dedicated to patient care and superb image quality, backed by a commitment to continuing education and quality assurance program initiatives. The Technologist will report to the Ultrasound Supervisor, and adhere to respective institutional policies and procedures.

**SPECIFIC DUTIES**:
Performs ultrasound imaging procedures in UHN and Sinai Health main ultrasound departments and/or Emergency Departments as required. Operates, troubleshoots and ensures functioning of ultrasound, medical imaging and ancillary equipment. Prepares written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test results. Participates in teaching, educational, safety and quality improvement programs/activities. Performs other related patient care responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care.

Performs cross-functional/site responsibilities as assigned, including the potential to work call or overtime, and evening, weekend, or night shifts.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:
Certifications / Registrations
- Certification by Sonography Canada, or equivalent based on grandfathering program at the time of sonography regulation in Ontario
- Current registration with the CMRITO and fulfilling the annual required continuing education as per CMRITO
- Completion of a BCLS program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification, with maintenance of certification

Previous Experience
- Completion of clinical component of relevant accredited medical imaging academic program, or equivalent education as assessed by Sonography Canada and CMRITO.

- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Excellent problem solving and recognition skills
- Excellent teaching skills and ability to convey expert job knowledge
- Effective computer skills
- Strong written and verbal communications skills including through formal clinical documentation
- Awareness of hospital emergency codes and procedures required.

Availability
- Ability to work variable shifts and take on-call assignments.

**PREFERRED**:

- Current membership with Sonography Canada
- Registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in Obstetr
