MacEwan University is seeking a Supervisor, Aquatics, for a 12-month replacement term opportunity with our Sport and Wellness department. Reporting to the Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of all aquatic facilities, programs and activities, ensuring the highest level of safety standards while supervising and leading aquatic staff and pool maintenance, planning and evaluating programming, and overseeing compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

- Supervising and supporting Aquatics staff, including managing staff onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance, and conducting team meetings;
- Participating in recruitment and selection of Aquatics staff;
- Serving as a point of contact, reference, and escalation for the Aquatics team;
- Assisting to resolve conflicts and challenges;
- Competing regular performance evaluations on Lifeguards and Instructors to ensure safety standards are met;
- Overseeing day-to-day operations of the aquatic facility, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and compliance with all applicable legislative, regulatory, agency and industry regulations and standards;
- Conducting regular safety audits, in-service training, and emergency preparedness drills;
- Planning and implementing aquatic programs;
- Maintaining accurate staff and safety records and tracking;
- Monitoring, measuring, and reporting on program quality, issues, member experience, opportunities, and program trends;
- Responding to incidents, accidents, and emergencies, ensuring proper first aid and rescue protocols are followed;
- Assisting with budget management; and
- Developing and maintaining effective and efficient processes and workflows across multiple service points to ensure a positive user experience.

- Knowledge of risk management and occupational health and safety practices; and
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A minimum of a diploma in recreation, physical education or a related field.
- Current certification in Intermediate First Aid, Lifesaving National Lifeguard (NL), and Swimming Pool Operator Level 1.
- A minimum of five years of progressive experience within aquatic programs and facility management, including experience supervising, coaching and leading a team.
- Experience leading and planning training sessions.
- Experience with Intelligenz software would be considered an asset.
- Swimming Pool Operator Level 2 certification would be considered an asset.
