**technician**, the individual will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs) used in the Hurontario Project. **Technician**
***will be reporting directly to the LRV Supervisor on shift and will be supported by the Transdev Canada Rail team. The main responsibilities of this role include:

**POSITION**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Perform inspection, troubleshooting, diagnosis, testing, adjustment, maintenance, repair, modification and/or removal/replacement work on LRVs used in the Hurontario Project
- Work with electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and systems associated with LRV controls, propulsion, braking, suspension, HVAC, door, coupler, lighting, communication, signage, auxiliary, air supply systems and power supply/conversion systems, and other systems.
- Perform program work involving modifications and/or bench work involving the removal, testing, repairing and re-installation of LRV components, final system and vehicle tests after major repair, and the participation in acceptance testing for LRVs and related components
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on LRVs according to established schedules and procedures
- Diagnose and repair faults or malfunctions in LRVs, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, gear drive units, wheels, and other related equipment
- Interprets test results to diagnose malfunctions, plans troubleshooting procedures using
- schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals
- Perform routine repairs and replacements of LRV components such as brakes, motors, and gear boxes, and performance vehicle adjustments
- Participates and trained in re-railing exercises
- Conducts, supports, and operates re-railing equipment and acts as flag person for the protection of the public, employees and trains during emergencies and rerouting of trains
- Energizes and de-energizes the overhead traction power system within the maintenance shop utilizing a lock out and tag out (LOTO) process
- Conduct testing and calibration of LRV systems and equipment
- Complete required documentation for maintenance and repair activities
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of new LRVs as required
- Communicate with other maintenance staff and OCC Staff as required to support revenue service operations
- Using a truck or van to attend road calls as required to support revenue service operations
- Performs other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:
**QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**:

- Successfully completed a two-year college technicians’ program or higher in electrical, electromechanical, automotive, avionics, HVAC, millwright, or related studies
- Valid Ontario “G” driver’s license (two years minimum with no more than four demerit points)
- Successful completion of all mandatory training and testing required for this position, which includes the ability to upgrade to a class “DZ” driver’s license
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and drawings
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively within a team
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials (up to 23 kilograms)

**WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**:

- Must be legally entitled to live and work in Canada
- Experience working with electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and systems associated with LRV controls, propulsion, braking, suspension, HVAC, door, ramp, coupler, lighting, communication, signage, auxiliary, air supply systems, and power supply/conversion systems, etc.
- Experience with maintenance work order systems, with Maximo experience considered an asset
- Experience in the rail transit or transportation industry preferred
- Valid DZ license considered an asset
- Trade license considered an asset-
