Regular part-time (16 hours per week)

Overview:
St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica is seeking a part-time Assistant Sacristan to prepare for Liturgical Celebrations, which involves daytime and evening shifts, including weekends and holidays.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in the preparation and coordination of all regular and special liturgical celebrations in St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica, the Crypt Chapel, and St. John’s Chapel
- Arrange liturgical books, laying out vestments, and preparing the sacred vessels and items necessary for the celebration of Mass
- Support the Head Sacristan with the care and maintenance of the Sacristy and Sanctuary areas including management of vestments, monitoring of supplies, and care of flower arrangements
- Collaborate with other Cathedral employees and volunteers, including Ministers of Hospitality, Extraordinary Ministers of Communion, and Ministers of the Word
- Coordinate with the priests and lay pastoral associates for events and ceremonies in the Cathedral
- Other duties, as requested by the Cathedral Rector and Head Sacristan

General Requirements:

- Fully initiated member of the Catholic Church
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented, demonstrating accuracy and care in completing all tasks
- A willingness to serve
- Ability to honour and maintain confidentiality
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to work on weekends, evenings, and holidays
- A criminal background check will be required of the successful applicant
