**Job Description**:
Reporting to the Director, Engineering and Ice Operations, you will be a leader in driving value, excellence, and the ultimate fan experience at MLSE. As a leader in the Venues and Operations team, you will manage a team of committed building operators and trades professionals, maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable venues. You will provide leadership and operational experience to MLSE in technical areas such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, refrigeration and venue management.

The Manager, Building Operations is responsible for all aspects of building operation and engineering for Scotiabank Arena, E11even, Real Sports, and select areas of 50 Bay Street in a multifaceted 365 environment. This role also will provide support to all MLSE facilities and functions. Evening, weekend and holiday work is a key requirement of this role to support events.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the safety of building operations, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems for Scotiabank Arena, E11even, Real Sports, select areas of 50 Bay Street and other MLSE facilities and functions.
- Schedule general upkeep of the facility, painting, HVAC systems, plumbing, mechanical & electrical systems
- Supervise the safe and efficient operation of the Refrigeration Plant for the ice surface
- Resolve operational issues when necessary, ensuring proper follow-up with Manager
- Lead all aspects of Fire Life safety operation and maintenance
- Own the financial budget work, maintenance and schedule all mechanical systems work
- Prepare, distribute and track event cost estimates and expense summaries
- Generate, place and confirm rental supply and ensure internal/external work orders are complete and signed off
- Maintain ongoing communication and rapport with third-party contractors & suppliers
- Lead by example to ensure departmental integrity and provide mentorship, training and motivation to staff members
- Advocate safe work practices and customer service as key priorities among employees and trades
- Keep and maintain all appropriate logs and documentation
- Facilitate event execution through detailed and accurate communication & supervision
- Promote diversity within the department by supporting MLSE programs designed to build a welcoming environment for everyone
- Foster continuous improvement and a culture of service excellence, including devising new strategies and new opportunities.
- Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as requested

**Qualifications**:
- Previous experience managing large-scale, multi-functional facilities
- Completion or working towards completion of TSSA B-Ticket
- Proven experience in Building Automation, property management software, HVAC training and mechanical and electrical systems
- Previous experience working within a unionized environment is an asset
- Demonstrated experience leading and motivating a team of technicians and ensuring the team operates efficiently and collaboratively. This includes setting clear goals, delegating tasks effectively, and providing mentorship and support to the team
- First Aid, CPR, Defibrillation, WHMIS and Pool Certificate an asset
- Valid Ontario driver’s license required
- Knowledge of WHMIS and Occupational
