Custodian

Parksville: 1.5 hours inside and 1 hour outside x 3 times
- Qualicum: 1.5 hours inside x 3 times

Reporting to the Corps Officers and working under the general supervision of the site supervisor, the Janitor will maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the outdoor perimeter, primary areas, washrooms, staff area, and back rooms/loading areas.

**HOURS**:

- Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 6:30 AM - 9:00 AM
- Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday 7:30 AM - 9:00 AM

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Tidy and remove garbage from outdoor perimeter before store opening
- Sweep sidewalks and ensure clear pathways to front door
- Sweep/dry mop, wet mop, and vacuum all interior floors where applicable
- Dust high-traffic areas
- Wash interior windows where applicable
- Clean under appliances, equipment, and furniture, where accessible, and moves/stacks chairs, as required
- Clean and sanitize washrooms
- Clean storage rooms, closets, and floor mats
- Clean all janitorial equipment after use each day
- Remove garbage from all areas of the building to the garbage bins
- Provide own transportation
- May be assigned other related duties as required

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**:
**Education/Certification**
- No specific educational requirements.

**Experience**:

- May require six months of related janitorial experience.

**Required Skills/Knowledge**
- Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions, work cooperatively with others, and complete all assigned tasks to the site supervisor’s satisfactory level.
- Must be physically capable to complete the work assigned. Heavy lifting is involved in moving and stacking chairs.

**PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES**:

- Previous janitorial experience in a commercial environment, specifically in a kitchen area.
- Criminal Record Check
- Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training
