Civic Heart Centre is a full spectrum cardiology care clinic offering cardiac evaluation, management and treatment of various heart conditions. Our expert staff are focused on making every patient visit a positive experience. The goal of our Cardiology team is to provide our patients with comprehensive services for heart health, disease prevention, treatment and management.

We are currently recruiting for our Etobicoke as well as our Brampton clinic and provide competitive wages.

**Position Summary**

Reporting directly to the Clinic’s physicians (or their designee(s), you will work collaboratively with the Office Administration team and our team of cardiology professionals primarily to complete various tasks as they relate to scanning and reporting of echocardiographic studies.

**Responsibilities**
- Responsible for ensuring patient identification, safety and preparation are correct prior to a scan while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Greets patient, explain forthcoming tests, position and prepares the patient for their examination.
- Independently perform high-quality adult transthoracic echocardiogram & Doppler images to aid in patient diagnosis and or treatment for outpatients.
- Independently perform contrast and exercise stress echocardiograms to aid in patient diagnosis and or treatment for outpatients.
- Prepare and organize written preliminary reports as required.
- Ensure proper protocols are followed to report critical findings to the clinic physicians.
- Ensure all quality control assessments are performed as required. Takes all reasonable precautions and work in compliance with related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Confirm procedures for proper equipment maintenance are completed in accordance with clinic standards.
- Ensure all equipment is well maintained and in good working order.
- Assists in maintaining inventory of required supplies.
- Work productively and professionally as a team with the entire Office Administration team and other interprofessional members of the CHC team.
- Ensure open communication across teams in order to ensure best possible patient care is provided at all times.
- Other duties as required by Physicians, such as assisting the Office Administration team.

**Qualifications**
- Post graduate Cardiac Sonography diploma from an accredited school in Canada
- Must be a registered member of CMRITO in good standing as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
- RDCS registration in good standing with Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS.
- Must be proficient in adult studies and associated echo modalities.
- Demonstration of strong personal, professional and business ethics.
- Proven level of self-motivation, strong work ethic, initiative and reliability,
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills with a well-developed patient service focus.
- Effective problem-solving skills, critical thinking and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced clinic environment.
- Strong relationship management skills, including the ability and desire to collaborate with others as well as build strong and positive relationships with other members of the team.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstration of a high degree of discretion.
- Flexible and adaptable.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities, and the ability to make independent decisions, displaying a high level of initiative.
