Oceanstone Resort is a little slice of seaside heaven, just down the road from Peggy’s Cove. This restaurant, versatile venue and collection of coastal accommodations offers a stunning backdrop for events, local food experiences and making memories. We are thrilled to announce that a world-class Hydrothermal Spa is currently under development at our resort.
Reporting to the Executive Chef and Sous-Chef, the Second Cook is responsible for assisting with food preparation for meal periods and special events, as well as cleaning and sanitizing of designated kitchen areas, tools, equipment, and dishes.
**Responsibilities include**:
- Ensuring consistent quality standards in food preparation as per menu specifications and guest requirements
- Ensuring proper safety and sanitation in kitchen in accordance with Food Safe protocol.
- Incorporating into preparation any special dietary requests
- Ensuring food stocks are utilized effectively
- Assist with receiving, unloading, and storing groceries and supplies
- Assist with dishwashing and other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**:
- Food Handler Training completed
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple demands and strong customer service focus
- Ability and desire to work independently with mínimal supervision, and as a team player
- Have ability to work a multitude of shifts to include early mornings, evenings and weekends

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 20 per week
**Salary**: $16.00-$18.00 per hour

**Experience**:
- Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
