Buffalo Trail Public Schools is seeking a Temporary Payroll Administrator to administer payroll and benefits for our support staff. This position, reporting to the Secretary-Treasurer, is needed as soon as possible and will continue until March 31, 2025 The role ensures the accurate and timely administration of payroll processes in alignment with our mission to provide a supportive and effective work environment.
**Position Details**:
**Job Type**: Temporary, Full-Time
**Start Date**: As soon as possible
**End Date**: March 31, 2025
**Key Responsibilities**:
Verify and process monthly payroll, including timesheet verification
Administer benefits per union and non-union agreements
Oversee year-end procedures, including T4s and reporting
Maintain records for medical leave, vacation, and absences
Maintain records for medical leave, vacation, and absences
Support CUPE reporting and assist with collective agreement requirements
Manage ROEs, month-end deductions, and remittances to government agencies
Address inquiries regarding payroll and benefits
Ensure compliance with payroll-related policies, regulations, and agreements
Collaborate with Human Resources on leave management and collective agreements

**Qualifications**:
**Required**: Grade 12 education with training in accounting, payroll, or HR
**Preferred**:
Post-secondary payroll or accounting training
Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Canadian Payroll Manager (CPM) designation (or working towards it)
FOIP (Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy) training
5+ years of related payroll experience
**Skills**:
Proficiency in payroll/accounting software (Bellamy/Sylogist knowledge is an asset)
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Professional communication abilities, both written and interpersonal
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
An original acceptable criminal records check with vulnerable sector check will be a condition of employment.
