**JOB SUMMARY**:
The Manager Disbursement Accounting, is accountable to the Director, Financial Reporting, for the processing and payment of invoices and employee expenses. The manager is also responsible for providing leadership and direction to staff in the Disbursement Accounting area.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
- Manage accurate and timely processing and payment of invoices and employee expenses.
- Manage the corporate procurement card program.
- Maintain effective internal controls around vendor master record creation and change.
- Maintain an effective relationship with SaskPower’s vendors.
- Maintain and enhance Accounts Payable software systems Provide accounting expertise and advice to corporate staff; coordinate activities with other business unit financial groups within the Corporation.
- Review, recommend and oversee internal control processes for financial systems.
- Plan, delegate, and coordinate activities and processes to ensure timely processing of financial transactions and reporting.
- Provide accounting assistance to other departments and business units.
- Participate in cross-functional ad hoc committees and projects.
- Supervise, train and develop staff including completing annual performance evaluations.
- Perform other related and assigned duties as required.
**KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES**:
- Chartered Professional Accountant
- 7 Years of related experience
- Strong team leader and member with the ability to select and develop staff and influence the performance of others
- Ability to impact and influence employee engagement and development, while focusing on teamwork and holding people accountable
- Results oriented thinker, with the ability to influence and manage complex and confidential issues with sensitivity and professionalism
- Ability to foster a culture focused on safety, innovation and teamwork
- Demonstrated skill in SaskPower’s competencies
- Must have a continuing record of professional development
