**SUMMER STUDENT EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY**

The Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) employs approximately 4,000 dedicated staff who serve more than 35,000 students attending a variety of programs across 65 elementary and 11 secondary schools as well as continuing education and adult learning centres in the counties of Dufferin, Wellington and the City of Guelph. The Upper Grand District School Board is looking for energetic and enthusiastic students to join us for the summer of 2023 To qualify for a student employment opportunity, you must be a student returning to school full-time in September 2023. Proof of enrolment will be required.

**POSITION: Maintenance Summer Student**
**DEPARTMENT**:Facility Services
**START/END DATES**:Monday, May 1, 2023 to Friday, August 25, 2023
**LOCATION**:With the requirement to travel throughout the system.
- Arthur Public School (155 Conestoga St., Arthur, ON)
**RATE OF PAY**:$16.00 per hour (40 hours per week)

**POSITION DESCRIPTION/DUTIES**:

- Assist in performing general maintenance duties, including landscaping, painting, garbage pickup and moving furniture
- Other duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**:

- Must have a valid Ontario Class G or G2 Driver’s Licence
- May be required to operate Board equipment (i.e. weed whippers, etc.)
- Must be able to work outdoors exposed to all types of weather conditions (i.e. sun, rain, heat, cold, etc.) and be able to tolerate exposure to noxious weeds, garbage, litter, debris and dust, chemicals or be able to work in an office environment
- Must be able to work in the public right-of-way (in and adjacent to roads and traffic)
- Must be able to perform physical work involving heavy lifting, shoveling and digging, repetitive sweeping, walking, and operating vehicles as required
- Should possess excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to work well in a team
- based environment
