GHD is looking for a Environmental Technician to join our Contaminant Assessment & Remediation Team in the Ottawa, Ontario office. Our Ottawa Team specializes in environmental site assessment, risk assessment, remediation, waste management, and water services. Our team also supports brownfield redevelopment projects, complex site assessments and remediation services, and provides environmental services to both public and private sector clients across North America.
Main responsibilities
Perform/ assist field work to supervise site interventions related to environmental characterizations of soil and groundwater and land rehabilitation (by excavation)
Assistexploration trenching, drilling, installation of observation wells, soil and groundwater sampling;
Assist the overall supervision of subcontractors on the sites
Implement and enforce health and safety plans on construction sites;
Write site reports and other technical documents.
Training and skills
In the process of

completing a Technologist or certificationin environment, geology or civil engineering;
Hold the ASP Construction Card would be an asset
Site experience would be an asset
Good command of English both orally and in writing. Bilingualism (French and English) will be a great asset;
Possess a valid driver's license and a vehicle;
Autonomous, methodical, responsible, resourceful and punctual person;
Available for a variable schedule.
Available to work on sites outside the region on occasion
