Assistant Brewer

- Functional Role:_

The Assistant Brewer is responsible for all the cellar duties, also to include wort production on a 20HL custom built 3 vessel Brewhouse, depending on experience.
- Duties:_

Wort production on a 20HL custom built 3 vessel Brewhouse.

Wort production on a 1HL Pilot Brewhouse with associated conical fermenters and packaging tanks.

Modest oak barrel program with special releases throughout the year.

Kegging, Canning, Bottling

Beer transfers

CIP of tanks and equipment

Shipping and Receiving

Cleaning

Loading and measuring material and or ingredients, dry-hopping and yeast collection

Day to day management and organization of the brewery and warehouse locations

Delivery of product when required.

Perform necessary quality assurance testing including daily beer checks, measurements on packaging materials, beer chemistry, carbon dioxide, label and finished package quality.

All aspects of raw materials handling, milling of grain, wort production, fermentation monitoring, yeast handling and pitching, clarification, transfers, finished beer monitoring, equipment CIP and general sanitation, parts and hose maintenance

Participate in ongoing product and process improvement efforts.

Perform project work as needed.

Additional Cellar and Brewhouse duties as necessary.
- Experience and Skills:_

2 years related work experience in a commercial brewery, cidery and or distillery.

Aptitude for understanding technical aspects of equipment

A willingness to learn and become part of a small team.

Be a team player focused on meeting production, quality, and safety goals.

Ability to work and communicate with all levels of brewery personnel.

Lift up to 60 pounds and perform repetitive tasks
- Minimum Education:_

Formal Brewing education preferred.

High School Diploma, other specific education related training will be considered.

Full-time salary with a competitive livable wage
