Plumber/steamfitter

**Your Opportunity**:
Rockyview General Hospital is looking for an experienced maintenance Plumber that also holds a Steamfitter ticket. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled journeyperson to join the Facilities Maintenance team and provide a valuable service to the healthcare industry. This position requires a considerable amount of problem solving skill, patience, and ability to work independently or as part of a group. You will be exposed a wide variety of work with some days doing routine maintenance and other days responding to emergency flooding situations. The successful applicant must have knowledge of industrial plumbing systems, medical gas systems, vacuum systems, hydronic systems, fuel gas systems and fire protection systems. A minimum of five years of commercial or industrial service experience is required. Plumbing in a healthcare setting is much different from residential, commercial or industrial settings, with great emphasis placed on following specific procedures that protect the health of the patients. This position is open to any accredited Journeyperson Plumber that holds a Journeyperson Steamfitter ticket, looking to join an outstanding maintenance team.

**Description**:
As a Plumber/Steamfitter plans, installs and services plumbing and piping systems, fixtures, equipment and controls used to transport water, waste, gas, air, and steam. You will be responsible for monitoring, testing, trouble shooting, documenting and analyzing performance of high and low pressure steam, hot water heating, associated distribution and control systems and equipment, plumbing, medical gas, domestic hot & cold water, tempered water, glycol, chilled water, natural gas, storm and sanitary sewer. In addition, you will prepare feasibility and cost estimates and reports and request or order supplies.

**Required Qualifications**:
Journeyperson Plumber and Journeyperson Steamfitter-Pipefitter certificates from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Gasfitter Ticket, Valid Backflow Testers Certificate, Experience with medical gas systems.
