**Job Intro**
The System Planner position is responsible for seeking out/identifying possible buildings, infrastructures, and land parcels as well as develop potential partners, developers or interested parties for Bridge Housing/Transitional Housing and Emergency Housing options. Experience working with vulnerable populations. Knowledge of social issues; primarily homelessness or risk of becoming homeless. Safety is of the upmost importance in offering housing support to vulnerable populations and this role will require strict confidentiality and crisis intervention and prevention. In this role you must have effective networking and communication skills. Opportunity to work in a hybrid work environment (in office and remote).
**Typical Work Day**
**Responsibilities**:
- Ensure that program delivery is congruent with A Roof Over Your Head’s mission, vision and philosophy
- Provide training to all staff regarding program policies and guidelines and ensure staff continue to follow program standards
- Seeks out infrastructure/locations for transitional housing options, whether it be a building site or an existing building
- Identify resources within the community and maintain good working relationships with developers or interested parties for Bridge Housing/Transitional Housing and Emergency Housing options
- Network, connect with front line staff and working closely with the ED to build connections in Guysborough and Antigonish towns and counties
- Develop programs and services which would attach to the housing options
- Provide data and program information Lead Housing Support Worker/Executive Director upon request
- Collaborate on and implement project plans, delivering projects on time, within scope, and budget
- Conduct a post-implementation review to assess the degree to which the project achieved defined objectives
- Prepare reports and maintain records to ensure transparent and accurate reporting to Lead Housing Support Worker/Executive Director

**Requirements**:
**What's Most Important**
**Qualifications**:
- Social Science Bachelor's Degree or diploma in related field
- Experience in one or both would be an asset (building transitional housing or developing programs)
- Demonstrated knowledge of the impacts of physical and emotional abuse, mental health, homelessness, and poverty
- Experience working in housing, or in the homelessness sector an asset
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, multi-task conflicting demands, meet deadlines, and work independently
- Knowledge of local community resources
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in the use of computers and software including Microsoft Word
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License & Clean Drivers Abstract
