Enhanced Support Worker

The Program Support is responsible for assisting children to participate in daily programming and working with educators and community resources to adapt classroom routines to provide the children with the ability to participate and find success in developmental goals. Program Support staff will ensure children’s individual support plans are followed and implemented.

**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES of an Enhanced Support Worker**:

- Provide educators with time to develop enhanced programming to support engagement in play-based activities, to undertake observations and documentation of children.
- Establishing and maintaining positive rapport with children.
- Participating in the development and implementation of the children’s individual support plan.
- Participating in the establishment and implementation of programs and strategies.
- Facilitating and providing guidance to assist children to access community resources.
- Providing an environment in which children can achieve an appropriate level of skills, including problem solving, organizational and social skills.

**QUALIFICATION CRITERIA**:

- Registered Early Childhood Education (RECE) Preferred, related education and/or experience such as, but not limited to, Child and Youth Worker, Personal Support Worker, Behavioural Science, etc. will be accepted
- Demonstrated experience working with children
- Available for flexible shifts
- Up to date First Aid and CPR (Level C)
- Clear Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last 6 months)
- Up to date Immunizations (including TB test)
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to work effectively and independently with mínimal supervision.
- Active knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act, How Does Learning Happen, ELECT, an asset

**Compensation**
- Registered Early Childhood Educator: $18.82 per hour (inclusive of Government Funding)
- Non-Early Childhood Educators: $18.28 per hour (inclusive of Government Funding)

**Schedule**
- Applicants must be available for shifts ranging during centre’s operational hours (Monday to Friday)
- Scheduled between 35-40 hours per week.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 2 months

**Salary**: $18.28-$18.82 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Gananoque, ON K7G 1M9: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Shift availability:

- Day Shift (preferred)

Work Location: In person
