**Position Summary**:
The Metal Fabricator will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints, fabricating metal components or structures, and performing quality checks on finished products.

**Responsibilities**:

- Read and interpret fabrication shop drawings
- Fabricate various steel parts/structures using metal fabrication equipment (brake press, rollers, band saw, iron worker, hydraulic press, shears, drill press, torches, flame cutters, air gouger, pneumatic/power actuated tools)
- Create fabrication layouts based on shop drawings
- Handle, transport, and process product and materials using various lifting equipment (overhead cranes, forklift, jib crane, etc.)
- Inspect raw materials and finished product to ensure they meet specifications
- Operate and inspect material handling equipment (such as overhead & mobile cranes) and light mobile equipment (such as forklifts, pickup trucks)
- Fit and weld assemblies
- Demonstration of good housekeeping practices at all times

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- 5+ years of metal fabrication experience
- 437A certification preferred
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, including dimensions, symbols for welding/assembly, and tolerances
- Ability to use fabrication equipment such as cut off saws, iron worker, hydraulic press, rollers, shears, drill press, torch, and pneumatic/power actuated tools
- Experience inspecting raw materials and finished product to ensure they meet specifications
- Welding experience or certifications a strong asset
- Ability to work at heights using scaffolding, man lifts, ladders etc.
- Ability to work in confined spaces

Ability to work outside in all weather conditions year-round (cold, heat, wind, rain, snow, etc.)
