Safeline Utility Services Inc is a busy Utility Construction company with the head office located in Smithville and a remote office in Sudbury. Our works spans the province of Ontario.

Responsibilities and Skills
- Ensure that all business operations including but not limited to construction & industrial activities are following the _Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)_ and its Regulations for Construction Projects, Industrial Establishments, etc. including the execution of Safeline’s Health and Safety Management System (HSMS).
- Continuous development and maintenance of Safeline’s Health and Safety Management System, and prevention of incidents/accidents within all levels and locations of Safeline.
- Manage the development, facilitation, and implementation of the Safeline's Health & Safety/Compliance training programs including but not limited to policies, procedures, and current regulations within the industry.
- Maintain compliance with several client registry requirements (ISN, Alcumus Contractor Check, Avetta, ComplyWorks, etc.)
- Perform and maintain health & safety compliance through conducting on site inspections and internal audits province wide.
- Co-chair the Joint Health & Safety Committee.
- Work in collaboration with the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) in identifying opportunities for improvement within our current Health and Safety Management System, including but not limited to developing and implementing preventive/corrective action plans
- Participate in inspections and investigations with third party companies and/or governing agencies such as _The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, Skills & Development (MLITSD)_; as needed and/or as required.
- Annual Auditing of the HSMS to maintain regulatory compliance and current business standards information by conducting annual reviews.
- Provide quarterly updates to Senior Mgmt. on Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance.
- Lead the incident investigation process to determine root cause and timely corrective action.
- Manage and establish objectives for the Health and Safety Department.
- Assure all records are kept in accordance with regulations including OSHA logs and training documents.
- Manage the Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) program for compliance and adherence to policies and procedures.
- Manage GeoTab in conjunction with the Safeline fleet and its drivers.
- Manage the WSIB - Health and Safety Excellence program (HSEp).
- Develop programs to achieve COR Certification.
- Overseeing WSIB claims management with the Management Team.
- Out-of-town work is required for audits and training.
- Respond to accidents after hours or weekends if required.

Education/Knowledge Requirements
- Degree in Occupational Safety and Health preferred or related field with three to five years management experience with direct responsibility for health, safety & environmental.
- Demonstrated skill in training, development and implementation of health, safety & environmental programs.
- Experience in hazard recognition, evaluation and analysis, and development and implementation of control processes.
- 5 years of related work experience.
- A strong understanding of OSHA compliance requirements.
- Experience in leading teams.
- Experience in developing and managing health & safety training programs to promote workplace health and safety.
- Strong communication skills (written and oral).
- Experience with COR (2020 Standard)
- Experience with client registries (ISN, Alcumus Contractor Check, Avetta, ComplyWorks, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and internal operational systems, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.

- Safety Management: 3-5 years (preferred)
- Microsoft Office Suite: 1 year (preferred)
- ISN, Alcumus Contractor Check, Avetta, ComplyWorks: minimum 2 years (preferred)
- First Aid & CPR Training (current)
- MLITSD Working at Heights (current)
- MLITSD Joint Health and Safety Certification (current)

**Salary**: $78,725.00-$86,149.00 per year
