**Your Compensation**

This full-time position pays $26.06 per hour in accordance with the HEU Collective Agreement.

With your highly developed mechanical skills, you have a proven ability to maintain and repair a wide range of appliances, equipment, and systems. As a critical thinker and problem solver, you approach challenges with a detailed and organized mindset. You effectively manage your time, workload, and conflicting priorities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently. In the role of Maintenance Assistant, you contribute to the smooth operation of our facilities by providing essential support to create a safe and comfortable environment for our residents and team members. You embody our organizational values in every interaction, demonstrating compassion, honesty, respect, innovation, stewardship, teamwork, and fun.

**Job Requirements**

Must Have’s
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in building and systems maintenance.
- Knowledgeable in maintenance best practices.
- Skilled in using tools and performing tasks related to building and systems maintenance.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of establishing and maintaining professional relationships with Team Members, Residents, and external parties.
- Effective in working independently with a high level of autonomy, as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Able to resolve conflicts while aligning with organizational values.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Well-developed organizational skills.
- Efficiently manages time, workload, and conflicting priorities.
- Adaptable and flexible in response to changing priorities.
- Must be in good health, free from communicable diseases, and physically and mentally capable of performing the job duties in the working environment.

**Job Duties**
- Maintenance Tasks: Performs repairs and installations for furniture, plumbing, electrical, and equipment.
- Grounds Maintenance: Power washing, irrigation system repair, and external building upkeep.
- Reporting: Maintains records of completed repairs and maintenance.
- Professional Development: Takes responsibility for personal growth, attends relevant conferences.
- Health & Safety: Promotes and practices a safe work environment, identifies, and corrects hazards.
- Other Duties: Performs additional assigned tasks based on individual strengths.
- Required to be on-call to respond to potential emergency maintenance situations.

Victoria ranks among the top twenty world cities for quality of life. Your work location will be The Heights at Mount View, a seven-story, 260-suite long-term care community in Saanich.

**Salary**: $26.06 per hour
