Under your leadership, you and your team will develop and execute employee-focused mental health strategies that proactively support our workforce to stay healthy and resilient in the face of the unique workplace stressors that exist for public safety and healthcare personnel. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, EMS Employee Programs, and working in collaboration with other members of the Wellness team, the Program Manager, EMS Employee Wellness works closely with internal and external partners to develop and implement initiatives to support the wellness of EMS employees in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of AHS. This role is a provincial position, and the physical work location is negotiable, within Alberta. **Description**:
The Program Manager, EMS Wellness is responsible and accountable for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating an AHS EMS Employee Mental Health Strategy that incorporates evidence-based and best-practice wellness programs for all EMS employees. The Program Manager, EMS Employee Wellness will also lead program development and oversight for existing wellness supports, including the planning, management, and monitoring of the program’s budget. You will provide direct leadership, coaching, professional development, performance management, and recruitment for the EMS Employee Wellness Program team. As the Program Manager, you will develop and maintain effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders and participate in various committees promoting mental health and wellness, psychological safety, and psychological injury prevention and supports within EMS. You will oversee program evaluation and continuous quality improvement within your portfolio, working with AHS and external partners to analyze the data and trends for opportunities for improvement. You will evaluate program utilization and effectiveness, auditing and updating mental health and wellness orientation and education for EMS. This includes development of performance metrics related to mental health and wellness, including proactive strategies for identifying and appropriately addressing mental health concerns.

**Required Qualifications**:
The successful applicant for this position will possess a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., business management, human resources, healthcare administration, psychology, sociology, etc.). Has a minimum of five (5) years in a leadership capacity, ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Also has a minimum of two (2) years working in psychological health and wellness, with experience identifying and effectively communicating recommendations, risks, and potential outcomes to leadership. This person has an advanced knowledge of the mental health challenges facing public safety personnel (PSP), as well as the research and resources available to support PSP mental well-being. Equivalencies in education and experience will be considered. This individual will hold a valid Alberta Class 5 Operators driver’s licence.
