Administration Full-Time New Position

The Manager of Esports is responsible for the overall leadership, operation, and planning of Conestoga Esports’ facilities, Varsity operations, student programming, continued development of academic partnerships with the School of IT, Business and Creative Industries, and Community Outreach. The incumbent will develop plans that are aligned with the College and Athletics & Recreation priorities and pursue opportunities that advance Conestoga Esports and College profile.

The Manager will oversee and build the Conestoga Esport varsity portfolio and develop systems that support the recruitment, logistics, visibility, and overall success of Condor Varsity Esports. The incumbent will lead internal stakeholder groups to provide expertise towards the advancement of Esports initiatives across the Conestoga.

**Responsibilities**:
**Provides Strategic Direction and Leadership in the General Operation of the Conestoga Varsity Esports Programs**
- Leads and develops procedures related to the Varsity team logistics, including scheduling, budgeting, travel, facility, equipment requirements, academic success, etc.
- Utilizes available resources to creatively enhance the varsity student experience for Esport athletes
- Builds and implements evaluation tools to measure success and identify gaps/opportunities within the varsity portfolio
- Creates safe guards and systems to ensure compliance with Esport league rules, eligibility requirements, and policies and procedures
- Responsible for the planning and delivery of Esport varsity events/games, including the production, broadcast, and staffing of a high quality livestream
- Leads, mentors, and performance manages Condor Esport varsity coaches
- Establishes varsity and academy growth targets that meet the demands of Conestoga students and stakeholders
- Builds and administers a robust Conestoga varsity scholarship program that supports recruitment strategies and student-athlete financial health
- Creates annual fundraising opportunities for varsity coaches and teams; Assists coaches with event support to develop consistent and sustainable fundraising initiatives
- Works closely with the Manager of Varsity & Athletics Operations to ensure varsity student-athletes are included in the scope of the “Condors Care” program
- Works with the media staff to create robust media assets that can be utilized to enhance the profile of the Conestoga Esports varsity program
- Seeks out partnerships with organizations that will advance the varsity Esports program towards its goals and objectives

**Management and Oversight of the Operations of Conestoga Esports Facilities and Programming**
- Develops and maintains agreements/Memorandum of Understandings (MOU) with college partners, including IT, Cyber Security, and various Academic departments
- Assesses staffing levels across Esport facilities and determines net new position requirements to meet facility and programming demands
- Makes budget capital projections to ensure the appropriate planning and allocation of funds for major capital facility expenses
- Leads procurement processes for the sourcing and purchasing of new Esport equipment
- Contributes to and makes recommendations on the design and infrastructure requirements for future Esport facilities
- Develops corporate sponsorship packages/material that highlights Conestoga College’s partnership/donor opportunities
- Provides leadership, mentorship, and guidance to Esport Full-time and Part-time staff
- Works with HR business partner to recruit top Esport talent; Interviews, hires, and onboards Full-time staff
- Reviews Athletics & Recreation materials, including the Student Athlete Handbook, Coaches Handbook, and Student Employee On-Boarding material to stay consistent with department messaging
- Works with the Supervisor of Esport Operations to build capacity and community through the provision of Esport recreational programming and events
- Develops and implements quality assurance measures, including surveying, focus groups, committees, and other methods of collecting and compiling student feedback
- Fosters an environment of inclusion, equity, and a sense of belonging for Conestoga students and guests
- Cultivates opportunities for multi-campus programming through the development of inter-campus tournaments, events, and leagues
- Develops systems for introducing new game titles to assess student interest while creating pathways to academy and varsity
