Job Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Edmonton team at CSA Group As part of the laboratory team you will have the opportunity to test new and emerging products for compliance to safety standards before they hit the market. Reporting to the Product Group Manager, you will be involved in a world class organization dedicated to serving our clients and creating a better, safer, and more sustainable world.

**Responsibilities**:

- Set-up and operate a wide range of laboratory test equipment, and conduct specific and routine tests; disassemble, assemble, and prepare test samples; record technical data, draft test reports.
- Conduct compliance testing on client's products in CSA Group's Edmonton labs. This will encompass a variety of test procedures used to test products destined for ordinary industrial locations as well as hazardous industrial locations where products are tested in our explosion lab.
- Troubleshoot and repair electric or electronic equipment as needed to facilitate testing.
- Participate in lab improvement projects such as documenting testing procedures and equipment configurations, streamlining the process for scheduling execution of product testing, and enhancing safety aspects of testing.
- Work with the other Lab Technicians and Certifiers in order to complete test activities within project timelines.
- Maintain good housekeeping of tools, equipment and work area following tests and carry out assigned laboratory clean-up duties and preventive maintenance.
- Become familiar with our metrology system for maintaining calibration of critical test equipment.
- Perform other lab duties as assigned by the Manager.

Education and Experience:

- Electrical or electronics technology diploma or engineering degree
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles
- Practical knowledge of and experience with test and measurement instruments and equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, multi meters and operation of machines such as drills, mill machines, table saw, band saw, and various hand tools

**Skills**:

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting promised delivery dates.
- Must be team-oriented with good interpersonal skills and abilities to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Self-motivated and client-service oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, prioritize, follow-through, and evaluate assigned functions and duties.
- Good organizational and time management skills necessary to complete job tasks independently and in a time-efficient manner.
- Reasonable knowledge of networking and communication protocols.
- Demonstrated awareness of safety principles
