**Location**
Copper Mountain Mine is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors. Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.
**Summary**
Reporting to the Mill Operations Manager, this position is responsible for managing the Tailings team and ensuring the ongoing safe operation of the tailings management facility.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Ensure strong safety performance and zero Lost-Time injuries within the Mill Tailings department,
- Manage the operation, maintenance, and surveillance of the Tailings Management Facility (TMF),
- Oversee day to day operational and maintenance issues associated with the construction of the TMF, in conjunction with other departments as required,
- Liaise with the Engineer of Record on monitoring data, quality data and production plans,
- Act as the TMF Qualified Person as defined in the Health, Safety and Reclamation Code for Mines in British Columbia,
- Liaise with the Company’s ITRB in bi-annual meetings and update the Terms of Reference as it may be modified from time to time,
- Integrated role in short-term and long-term planning, budgeting and execution for the development of the TMF,
- Oversee supervision of the operations team associated with the safe construction and management of the TMF,
- Integral role in implementing the Water Management Plan associated with the mill and TMF and responsible for the site wide water balance,
- Integrated into the Mill department to provide support and coordination when required for department wide projects such as, but not limited to, mill shutdowns, civil construction projects and,
- Ensure compliance with all TMF design requirements, and applicable safety and environmental regulations, company policies and standards.
**Education & Experience**
- Degree in Metallurgical, Chemical, Mining, Mineral Processing, or Geotechnical engineering relatable to Tailings Management,
- A minimum of eight (8) years experience, including significant time spent managing tailings storage facilities,
- P. Eng designation or ability to register with EGBC as a Professional Engineer,
- Previous management experience in a technical environment with proven leadership abilities,
- Valid driver’s license.

**Working Conditions**
- Work involves a set work schedule on-site at Copper Mountain Mine, Monday to Friday,
- Work may require manual dexterity required to use desktop computers and peripherals,
- Occasional exposure to fluctuations in sounds, temperature, noise, and vibration levels,
- Overtime and weekend work may be required.
