Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and meticulous NDE Assistant to join our team of Mobile Inspection Units. The NDE Assistant will support the NDE Technician and CEDO in conducting non-destructive tests and evaluations to ensure the integrity and safety of materials and structures. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong technical aptitude and the ability to work in various industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist NDE Technician and CEDO with setting up and performing non-destructive tests using methods such as radiographic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, and visual inspections.
- Help in calibrating NDE equipment and preparing materials for testing.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety protocols and industry regulations.
- Coordinate with other team members and departments to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Participate in on-the-job training to enhance NDE knowledge and skills.
- Assist with inventory management of NDE supplies and equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on NDE equipment

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in NDE is a plus.
- Basic mathematical skills for measurement and calculation.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to handle sensitive equipment with care.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively in a team.
- Physical dexterity and ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
- Willingness to work in various environments, including confined spaces and at heights.

Preferred Skills:

- Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with quality control practices and standards.

Assets:

- Clean Class 5 Driver’s Abstract
- First Aid Training
- H2S Training

Working Conditions:

- This position may require standing for long periods, working in indoor and outdoor settings, and exposure to industrial environments.
- Safety equipment and training will be provided.

Hours of Work:

- On-call, dispatch-based work. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Compensation:

- Trainee Starting Wage: $25.00/hour regular.
- After 3 months, eligible for Health and Life Insurance Benefits
- After 3 months, eligible for advancement training to obtain Exposure Device Operator (EDO) Certification
