**About the child**:
9 year old boy, diagnosed with ASD/Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and ADHD. He enjoys highly imaginative play, being out in the community, being around animals, learning about geography and politics. He thrives with support workers with whom he can create meaningful connections with, and that appreciate his uniqueness and see his potential. He has many strengths, including communication, creativity, humour and charisma. This child needs support in the home and in the community with self-regulation, social skills, academic support and strategies to manage PDA.

**A little about you**:
You are fun, energetic, creative, compassionate and patient. You enjoy making meaningful connections with exceptional and fascinating children, and are enthusiastic about seeing them grow and thrive. You have demonstrated resilience in high-demand interactions and managing challenging behaviour in autistic children (anxiety and anger). Experience working with individuals with PDA is an asset. You value being an active member of an engaged team that is evolving this boy’s life, one day at a time.

**Requirements**:

- Enthusiastic, eager to learn and motivated to implement Positive Behaviour Strategies with kindness and patience
- Help build a fun and meaningful learning environment
- Willing to be trained and supported by the family’s Behaviour Consultant
- Facilitate functional communication and social skills, and some academic support
- Willing to use individual’s preferred interaction style
- Able to implement strategies with fidelity, including ongoing data collection
- Communicates with team effectively, attends monthly team meetings
- Fluent in English
- 19 year of age or older (and can work legally in Canada)
- Education in a related field; OT, SLP, EDU, ABA, Psych, and/or similar work experience
- Willing to commit to a minimum of 1-year
- Must provide a copy of a current criminal record check
- Must have driver's licence - novice licence or above
- Must have a vehicle and willingness to drive clients
- Must provide three (3) references, minimum of one (1) in similar work experience

**Availability**:
**During school year**:Two sessions a week (Monday-Friday), 2-3 hours each session, start time between 3-4pm

**During the summer**:Three to four days a week (Monday-Friday), 7 hours per day, 8:30-3:30

**Compensation**:$16 - $30 an hour, depending on experience, with periodic wage adjustments based on performance.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 6-28 per week

**Salary**: $20.00-$35.00 per hour
