The K to 12 Fiscal Oversight sector delivers broad and varied services and supports to the ministry and education system through six branches: Budget and Fiscal Analysis; Funding Analysis and Analytics, School Finance; Financial Reporting and Accountability; Business Operations and Stakeholder Support and Business Services. The ministry provides funding to over 300 school authorities (including school boards, charter schools and private authorities) throughout the province for Kindergarten to Grade 12 students.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as the **Manager, Payments and Systems** in the School Finance Branch. Reporting to the Director, School Finance, you will lead an experience team and be responsible for the delivery of over $8b in funding to over 300 school authorities in Alberta and manage the systems behind those payments. Your work will ensure that funding flows correctly and efficiently to support the education of Alberta’s K-12 system. Responsibilities of the **Manager, Payments and Systems** includes:
- Defining, operationalizing, and managing the financial systems, business processes, and financial information stewardship services of the branch
- Providing oversight and accountability of a portfolio of grants under the Funding Framework.
- Stewarding the data contained within financial systems and continually finds opportunities to increase its’ usefulness to the department.
- Fostering strong, collaborative relationships with other branches within the sector and Ministry to advance the processes and systems they oversee.
- Ensuring training is available on financial systems and related processes to internal and external users.
- Effectively managing the Systems and Payments team to ensure a positive team culture, high performance, and delivery of outcomes aligned with strategic plan of the branch, sector, and Ministry.

- **Strategic Thinking**: Demonstrated ability to think strategically and align projects and analyses with organizational goals and priorities. Experience in translating data insights into actionable strategies and recommendations is required.

University graduation in a field related to the position assignment, supplemented by four years related experience.
**Equivalency**: Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one for one basis.

- Project Management: Experience in leading multi-faceted projects and managing resources effectively.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internal and external. Experience in building and maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders.
- Data Management: Experience in managing and maintaining large datasets, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and security. Proficiency in data cleansing, transformation, and database management.
