Machinist Helper

The Machinist Helper is responsible for support operation before and after machining process in order optimize production. Their job consists of performing repetitive operations in a machine shop environment.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Study job orders and interpret blueprints to determine operations to be performed.
- Set up and operate machine tools to perform repetitive operations, such as material handling, saw operation, marking and phosphating operations.
- Verify dimensions of parts machined using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Work with blueprints to produce work pieces conforming to quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery.
- Load, unload and move products and materials using basic material handling equipment and by hand.
- Shop/Machine Clean up.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Education and Experience Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent required.

**TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES**
- A valid forklift operator’s, and Crane operator certification considered an asset.

**HSE REQUIREMENTS**
- Participate in near miss / incident reporting
- Adhere to all HSEQ policies and procedures Able to work in shop environment (walking, standing), Ability to lift unassisted 35lbs
