We are looking for an experienced, loving, overnight dog handler for our busy, positive reinforcement based Doggy Daycare located in Richmond. We were voted #1 Best of Richmond in 2021 and are looking for 1-2 dynamic, team orientated people to join our family.
- Must be comfortable working in a team environment, we are a close knit team that treats each other like family.
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to lift 50+ pounds
- Is prepared to work 11 hour shifts
- Has experience working with dogs (preferred), is comfortable working with groups of dogs of all sizes and is able to control groups of dogs using positive reinforcement techniques (in house training provided).
- Customer service experience is an asset

What you'll be doing during the night shift:

- Supervising and caring for our boarding dogs overnight. We are a kennel-free boarding facility that creates a home environment for our pups. The overnight handler will be responsible for caring for each boarding dog and ensuring they are comfortable and resting well. We have several human sized beds in the facility for you and the pups to sleep on as well as a TV inside each rest area. We provide pillows and blankets as well.
- Interacting with our clients - Handing off dogs that are authorized for after hours pick ups (mínimal, from 8pm to 10pm) and taking payment.
- Cleaning
- Preparing breakfasts for the boarding dogs for the opening staff member
- Doing laundry
- This position requires someone that has a natural connection with dogs and is able to soothe and comfort dogs that may be having troubles settling in and sleeping. Dogs need to be sleeping for 15+ hours a day so it's the overnight person's responsibility to ensure that each dog is able to get ample rest and provide the care and attention needed for their mental and physical wellbeing.
- 40+ hours a week is available.
