**Vancouver Animal Emergency & Referral Centre** (VAERC)** is welcoming a full-time **Emergency Veterinarian** to add to our growing team.

We are a rapidly growing Emergency and Specialty Hospital offering Emergency, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Ophthalmology and Cardiology services. VAERC has over four decades of presence in Vancouver and we moved to our state-of-the-art facility in July 2016.

As a full-service emergency and referral facility, our emergency department treats an exciting and diverse caseload, inspiring lifelong learning and growth. Our Emergency Veterinarians work closely with the Specialty services to deliver the highest standard of medicine.

There are endless opportunities for professional development, including mentoring of DVM students, in-house continuing education events, and opportunities to assume other ancillary roles and committee positions. A full complement of onsite diagnostics include digital radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, endoscopy, CT, and MRI.
- A valid DVM degree or equivalent, enabling practice in Canada
- Completed a small animal internship or 5 years of emergency experience
- Leadership skills combined with a positive, team-player attitude to enable our team to flourish
- Excellent diagnostic and critical care skills
- Exemplary client service skills, allowing you to build trust and loyalty with clients
- Organizational skills, which allow you to work efficiently under pressure
- The drive and ability to train and mentor our emergency team, both veterinarians and technicians
- Ability to work a variety of shifts and rotate through weekends and statutory holidays
