**ABOUT US**:

Reporting to the Manager the **Sawyer** will be primarily responsible for operating the headsaw and controlling the pace of the mill.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The following responsibilities are assigned to this position:

- Operating the headsaw
- Training and working collaboratively with other employees who are designated as the back-up headsaw operators
- Keeping a clean and safe work space at all times.
- Performing all tasks in accordance with established safe work practices and standard operating procedures
- Other duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
The following criteria are the minimum qualifications required for this position:

- Experience with operating a headsaw,
- Experience working with double cut bandsaws, a variety of hardwood lumber grades, and general hardwood sawmill operating experience would be also critical.
- Previous experience in a sawmill environment would be considered an asset.
- Ability to work in a physical production type environment
- Ability to embrace hands on solutions to complex challenges
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Flexibility to work overtime as required.
