This position provides support to the Production Supervisor and Production Team Members. The main responsibility is to monitor material levels for all product line colours for extruder machines to meet production schedule requirements. It also includes training, developing, and evaluating Production Team Members to ensure that they are able to perform the required job tasks to meet company goals (i.e., safety, quality, and productivity). Other duties include providing relief support and direction to Production Team Members to ensure production goals are met in a timely manner with adherence to safety and quality standards. This position will also assist with problem-solving, visions (housekeeping), and controlling material usage by focusing on scrap reduction. Reports to the Production Supervisor / Shift Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, manage, train, and motivate the production team within the work cell.
- Monitor blender systems, ingredients, and changeovers.
- Vacuum pellets into mixing silos.
- Store mixes in silos using a tow motor.
- Clean the area by sweeping excess pellet spillage.
- Maintain filters and loaders at each machine.
- Maintain and enforce a safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety legislation and housekeeping practices, use of personal protective equipment, and any other company policies. This includes accident investigations and documenting/forwarding any violence/harassment complaints to the Shift Supervisor.
- Working closely with the Master Scheduler to ensure all customer orders are completed on the promised delivery date. Assist in expediting emergency orders.
- Enforce all company policies according to the handbook and forward any violations or disciplinary issues of the direct labour workforce to the Shift Supervisor.
- Participate in time studies for continuous improvement of production efficiencies.
- Ensure all SOP’s are kept up-to-date and arrange for appropriate training as required.
- Completion of daily checklists to ensure 5S activities in the work cell.
- Report any team member absences and any maintenance concerns to the Shift Supervisor.
- Ensure the attainment of daily production targets and identify any escalating production concerns in the area.
- Attending daily tier meetings to maintain communication with team members on the shop floor.
- Screen/restrictor plate changes.
- Completion of daily checklists.
- Monitor mix count/formula records per melt of plastic.
- Safe driving of tow motor.
- Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience using a tow motor.
- Organized with attention to detail.
- Troubleshooting skills.
- Works well under pressure.
- Self-starter results oriented.
- Excellent leadership and ability to motivate production workers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Must be able to stand continuously for the duration of the scheduled shift.
