Melewka Structures & Design is currently seeking a qualified individual for the position of Health and Safety Manager. Duties are as follows:
Key Responsibilities:

- Provide information, instruction, and assistance to all supervisory staff to protect the health and safety of all our employees.
- Understand and enforce our Emergency Response Plan as well as the Occupational Health & Safety Legislation.
- Provide all supervisory staff with an understanding and training of our Supervisor Training Program.
- Ensure availability of ongoing safety education programs and approved first aid training courses as required.
- Monitor departments and projects and hold them accountable for their individual safety performance.
- Must adhere to all OH&S legislated standards.
- Carry out regular inspections of the workplace to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
- Investigate any accidents, incidents, near misses, work refusals or occupational illnesses.
- Ensure visitors, subcontractors and employees are orientated on the Company’s health and safety plan.
- Ensure ongoing compliance of workers with the company’s health and safety safe work procedures and practices.
- Maintain employee and subcontractors’ safety training tickets.
- Maintain safety records and hand them in to the main office in an orderly fashion.
- Enforce the use of proper personal protective equipment as required.
- Review investigation results with management.
- Implement corrective action results.

Qualifications:

- NCSO certification or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years' experience and proven track record within a safety department.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify potential risks and develop effective solutions.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and WCB.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must have a valid divers license and be willing to travel to worksites around the province.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $24.00-$29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
