Dishwasher and Kitchen Cleaner

THIS JOB HAS VERY SHORT SHIFTS IN THE EVENING ONLY. - 2 OR 2.5 HOURS ONLY. You will be closing the kitchen.

**Job Summary**: As a Dishwasher and Kitchen Cleaner, you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen environment. Your responsibilities will primarily involve ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment are cleaned and sanitized efficiently. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in various areas of the kitchen, including surfaces, floors, and equipment. Your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness will contribute significantly to the smooth operation of the kitchen and the overall satisfaction of our customers.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Dishwashing**:

- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment efficiently and safely.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils manually as needed.
- Ensure that all items are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety standards.
- Properly store cleaned items in designated areas.
- **Kitchen Cleaning**:

- Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, including countertops, sinks, and appliances.
- Sweep and mop floors to maintain cleanliness and prevent slipping hazards.
- Empty trash and recycling bins regularly.
- Clean kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, and refrigerators.
- Maintain cleanliness in storage areas, including shelves and cabinets.
- **Assisting Kitchen Staff**:

- Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and efficiency in the kitchen.
- **Adherence to Health and Safety Standards**:

- Follow proper sanitation procedures to prevent contamination and ensure food safety.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and guidelines at all times.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to management promptly.
- **Organization and Inventory**:

- Keep cleaning supplies and equipment organized and stocked.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and report shortages to management.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations in a kitchen environment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

**Working Conditions**:

- This position requires working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- The role may involve standing for extended periods and lifting heavy objects.
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 - 16 per week
