**What can I expect to do in this role?**:

- Provide rehabilitative services to offenders to assist in their adjustment upon returning to the community
- Organize resources to effectively deliver programs as a sole facilitator, by marketing the program to offenders
- Enroll offenders to participate in programs and ensure that physical resources are in place to deliver the program
- Write case notes and input program tracking reports in Offender Tracking Information System (OTIS) in appropriate timeframe
- Submit statistical information to Deputy Superintendent, Treatment
- Complete classifications of offenders
- Gather information for and prepare Temporary Absence Permits
- Assist in the scheduling/coordination of fee-for-service providers
- Interview and respond to offender requests
- Facilitate referrals to assist in discharge planning
- Participate in meetings and committees
- Assist in the orientation, training and supervision of new staff, volunteers and students
- Provide information, write reports, and advise senior management
- Other duties as required

**How do I qualify?**:
**Specialized Knowledge and Experience**:

- You have knowledge of group facilitation, theories, and skills normally acquired through post secondary education in social sciences (such as criminology, sociology, law, psychology, social work, or a related field) in order to effectively facilitate, instruct, and deliver rehabilitative programs for inmates
- You have knowledge of and experience working with community agencies to assist in discharge planning
- You have understanding of the justice system and court processes/documentation
- You have knowledge of programs and strategies focusing on criminogenic risk factors and risk/needs assessment as it relates to programs such as the Temporary Absence Program, Intermittent Community Work Program and offender work programs
- You are proficient with computers in order to input/retrieve offender data from information systems and databases as well as prepare and maintain reports and statistics

**Interpersonal and Communication Skills**:

- You are able to work with and provide services/programming to offenders
- You have demonstrated interviewing techniques to assess offender needs, motivation, and suitability for placements
- You can liaise with multi-disciplinary professionals and correctional staff

**Analytical, Investigative, and Evaluative Skills**:

- You are able to obtain information and make recommendations based on established criteria
- You are able to assess suitability of offenders for participation in various rehabilitative programs
- You can effectively organize and prioritize to complete work in timely fashion as
