- Prepare system design calculations (system sizing and hydraulics)
- Co-ordinate the piping design activities with other disciplines
- Assist with the development of Process Flow Sheets, PFDs, and P&IDs
- Design and develop Utility Flow Sheets, PFDs, and P&IDs (compressed air, fire water, fresh water, potable water, sewage, wastewater etc.) in conjunction with Building Services
- hydraulic calculations for slurry, rotary and positive displacement pumps, and systems
- Write specifications and contract documents as well as review project documents prior to issue for scope and presentation, including checking for technical accuracy.
- Develop, plan, evaluate and recommend solutions for problems under the supervision of senior engineer.
- Work with and communicate with project management team.
- Perform or review engineering and design tasks requiring operation of available computer assisted software and/or equipment that increments work productivity and accuracy.
- Assure that all work on assigned projects is timely, accurate and high quality.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
- Organize, plans, and coordinate own work.
- Set expectations and monitor delegated activities for schedule and budget.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Minimum 0-3 years of related engineering experience.
- Registration as an EIT in Ontario will be considered an asset.
- Excellent written and oral skills
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with customers and vendors.
- Ability to work with administrative supervision and effectively manage multiple and conflicting priorities.
- Knowledge and ability to work with 2D and 3D software.
- Must be located within a reasonable commute to the Oakville, ON office, as no relocation or rotation is offered.
- Current authorization to work lawfully in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required.
