**Description**

CASSEN Testing Laboratories is one of the leading laboratories in chemical analysis in Canada. Located near the Toronto Pearson International Airport, the laboratory has extensive expertise and knowledge in analytical chemistry, and research and development. CASSEN specialises in analytical testing in support of environmental health studies, forensic investigation, product emissions, characterization studies, occupational exposure determination, method development and contract research.

We are recruiting an entry level analyst, **Laboratory Analyst**, who has graduated from university with a **Degree in** **Chemistry**. The position offers extensive experience with analytical instruments, extraction techniques, and all aspects of chemical testing processing procedures.

**Responsibilities**
- Operate and maintain instruments ensuring all required quality control procedures are conducted on a regular basis
- Perform sample preparation and instrumental analysis
- Perform validation, analysis, data processing, and reporting of specific projects as required
- Inspect the QC data generated and input into LIMS for statistical processing regularly
- Perform documentation of procedures, results, and QC data for testing and special studies
- Conduct and document basic maintenance of instruments on a regular basis
- Adhere to the laboratory guidelines, policies, and SOPs, and comply with all QA/QC policies
- Strict adherence to health and safety protocols
- Perform other laboratory duties as required

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc) in chemistry
- Working experience at a laboratory is preferrable
- Familiar with extraction and preparation methods
- Strong knowledge of chromatography
- Good understanding of organic chemistry and analytical chemistry
- Quick learner, meticulous, excellent attendance, and highly responsible
- Good analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills
- Effective communication and technical writing skills
- Punctual with reliable transportation

Working days are Monday to Friday between 8:30am to 5pm with occasional overtime as required.
